How 2 Throw an Epic 10 Year Old Birthday Party

I've been a mom for a decade...

My beautiful, kind, smart, and creative miracle baby turned 10! As I reflected on the last 10 years, I see so much growth in both of us. As moms, we learn and figure it out as we go, just like they do. I am grateful for the person she is becoming and so thankful for her health. It’s something I truly think about daily. I am the mom I am today because of her, my incredible husband, my supportive parents, wonderful friends, and this amazing community. It truly takes a village!

I want to thank my McKenzie Marie, our Cheeto Burrito for being the inspiration behind How2Mom. She truly changed my life in so many ways.

Although we we extremely busy right out of the gate this summer, we couldn’t miss celebrating our girl and this milestone birthday! With the help of some incredible local businesses, we hosted an epic birthday party sleepover!

Miko Events

Miko Events offers the most magical sleepover adventures for any occasion. It was the perfect addition to McKenzie’s 10th Dream Birthday Party Sleepover!

Allison's Petite Pastries

We all know that snacks and sweets are a must at a sleepover. Check out the delicious and adorable cake pops and cupcakes we received from Allison’s Petite Pastries in Anoka!

Spa Theme

My ten year old loves all things Starbucks and Spa related, so we brought the spa to the hotel. I spent the night giving ten year old’s facials and manicures and pedicures. It was so fun! My daughter picked out and created swag bags for each girl with a nail polish and fake nails in their favorite color. We also went a little overboard and got matching pajamas, but it was so fun and worth it seeing their smiles and hearing their little screams!

Location + Decorations

To keep things simple and in order to have enough space for the tents, we hosted the party at a local hotel. Most of the snacks, decorations, and spa items were purchased at the Dollar Tree and Target. I have linked a blog post below giving more details on how 2 throw a great, budget-friendly birthday party. The girls loved spending time in the room and at the pool! We order $6.99 pizzas for dinner from Dominos!

Happy 10th Birthday, Baby Girl...

McKenzie requested a new bike this year and we were gifted this beautiful keepsake silhouette portrait from Sweet Silhouette Co.
