We have been so blessed to have Stephanie as part of our team for the birth of our two children! From the moment we met, she brought a calming vibe to my journey into motherhood.
Stephanie got to know my husband and I, our desires for birth, our questions and fears, and was there for us every step of the way. I can’t imagine not having her!!
For our first child’s delivery, Stephanie really was a game changer. I was in labor all day and she stayed in contact with both my husband and me separately to check-in and make sure we were both doing well. She met us at the hospital in the late night hours, stayed with me the entire time allowing my husband to rest, kept me hydrated, calm and encouraged as I labored. She helped bring my labor and delivery wishes come true by knowing exactly how to get baby moving and rotated so I could deliver in the water. I remember getting ready to push and seeing Stephanie slowly step back to take photos as my husband stepped forward to deliver our child. She was there, but never in the way. Stephanie stayed with us to assure we were comfortable and settled as we cried and held our baby in the first few hours of his life. Even our first few days at home, Stephanie checked-in with us separately to make sure both my husband and I were doing well. She asked questions and brought up ways to help each other on this journey to parenthood.
When we found out we were pregnant again, Stephanie was on my mind from the beginning. We knew we wanted her! Even though we arrived late to the hospital (as in baby was on it’s way!), Stephanie coached my husband to help deliver our baby. She again, was there, just smoothly fitting in to our birthing story guiding and helping us the whole way. For our daughter’s birth, Stephanie had just started her placenta services, so we were lucky to have her encapsulate the placenta for us. Having Stephanie do this was just another way she supported us and continued to be part of our story.
Stephanie, we so appreciate your love, support, and guidance as we delivered two healthy children, all with your help!! You were instrumental in our birth stories! Thank you for being so incredible and being part of our lives!
For our third birth, we decided to have a home birth. We knew our team would consist of two midwives, but there was no doubt we wanted Stephanie included as part of that team as well.
Labor was unexpectedly long; those third babies are a wildcard! Stephanie was at our house from the beginning helping me get comfortable and situated. she anticipated all of our needs, never hesitating with help, rather jumping right in and doing whatever seemed appropriate; getting me snacks, taking photos, suggesting a new position, checking in on my other children. You name it and Stephanie did it!
As I’m a few weeks postpartum, Stephanie has checked in on me and given me encouragement in recovering and parenting. We are very blessed to have had three healthy births and to have Stephanie a part of each of their stories.
