2020 was a memorable year...
For a lot of reasons, most would say they were not sad to say goodbye to 2020. It was a tough year for many reasons, but we still wanted to touch on the GOOD and positives that also occurred, for both How 2 Mom and for Founder, Stephanie Sinclair’s family!
We Added How 2 Mom Team Members
How 2 Mom added another Birth Doula, a Birth Photographer, and a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist to the team! We are thrilled to have had these 3 ladies join our wonderful group. Click below to read more about each of them and learn about how they could assist with your prenatal, labor, and postpartum care 🙂
We Published A Lot of Content & Blogs
Last year was probably our most consistent year of getting information to all of you!! We published hundreds of social media posts and forty-two blogs!! That may not be a lot for some bloggers, but since this is just one part of what we do, 42 feels like a huge accomplishment! We are so happy with our commitment and want to celebrate our team’s efforts! We hope you all have gained knowledge and value by reading our content!
Launched Virtual Packages in response to COVID-19
How 2 Mom has always had a variety of packages because we believe that every family deserves support, but wishes, budget, and dynamics are different for everyone!
Last year, we were pushed to think even more out of the box. In response to COVID-19 and the restrictions placed on maternal support in response to the virus, How 2 Mom launched a variety of Virtual Packages. This meant that we were still able to serve our families, and now, we have the experience and capabilities to help families who aren’t local to the Twin Cities!
Families Served in 2020
How 2 Mom had the absolute honor of helping over 25 families in 2020 welcome a child into this uncertain world. We don’t take our roles lightly and know they held even more weight last year. We adore every client and feel lucky to have been welcomed into such an intimate journey. We were able to support home, birth center, hospital, and virtual births. Thank YOU!
Launched How 2 Mom Products
One of our most proud accomplishments through the craziness of 2020 was the launch of our own signature product line including boxes for New Mamas (whether you are a first time new mom, or a fifth time new mom!), affirmation cards for Birth/Labor (hard and digital copies), and affirmation cards for the journey of Motherhood to follow (hard and digital copies). The items below and MUCH more can be found on our “Shop” page!
2020 Parent Blogger of the Year-2nd Place
As we mentioned above, one of our most proud accomplishments for 2020 was our publishing of 42 blogs! This lead us to be nominated as one of Twin Cities Collective’s Best of Parent/Family Blogger nominees. We are so proud to have been granted 2nd place for the 2nd consecutive year (2019/2020), following our first place award in 2018!
Thank you to everyone who supports our blogging journey! Our goal is always to help reach our community and help mamas in whatever ways we can. We hope that we were able to provide support in some form for each and every one of you over the course of 2020!
St. Jude
Over the summer the kids and I represented How 2 Mom and participated in the St. Jude Ride & Run MN. Our team raised over $5,000 for families dealing with the unimaginable. Thanks to treatments invented at St. Jude, the overall childhood cancer survival rate has increased from 20% to more than 80% since it opened more than 50 years ago. Families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food. Thank you to Carrie the Moment for inviting us to join your team so that my family could play just a small role in making a difference. This is definitely an event we will look forward to every year.
Nick Jr.
Not long before the world shut down and our lives completely changed, we were able to take the kids to Nick Jr. We had an absolute blast and owe it all to once again, Carrie the Moment. She makes attending these events possible for families.
We were also supposed to attend Disney on Ice but that was canceled due to COVID.
Nashville
Brian and I had no idea how genius the timing of this trip would be. We had an absolute blast in Nashville, kid-free at the end of February.
Birthdays
The twins turned 3 and this happened right as the world shut down, McKenzie turned 7, I turned 35 and Brian 37.
We got a Puppy!
We rescued our puppy Audio in June from Spots Last Stop! A huge thanks to my cousin for walking us through the process!
Celebrating 9 Years of Marriage
How is this possible. 9 wonderful years. Looking forward to celebrating 10 this summer.
Ruttgers
It’s a tradition for our family to visit Ruttgers every year and I am so glad we were still able to make it happen last summer, even in the midst of COVID.
Virtual School & Haley, Our Nanny
I can’t believe it. I would have never planned to home school my kids. Although I can’t really take the credit because the teachers are the real heros, we had the kids home for almost an entire year for virtual learning. As a result of the situation, we did find an amazing nanny who helped us weather the storm.
In summary, it was a crazy year. It wouldn’t be right if we didn’t acknowledge all those who lost their lives due to COVID and the racial injustices that were brought to light when George Floyd was murdered.
It was a year of heartache, but I also hope a year of growth. It challenged us in ways we didn’t expect, and I hope showed you just how strong you are!
