How 2 Mom’s Birth Doula Package; What’s all Included?

Here's a frequent question we get during our FREE consultations...

What all is included in our Birth Doula Packages?

We are here today to lay it all out!

Two Prenatal Meetings

If you are comfortable with it, these meetings are held in the comfort of your home. Your first meeting will be scheduled for when you are around 32 weeks pregnant and the second around 36-37 weeks pregnant. If you hire our agency early in pregnancy we will want to connect well before that first visit to establish a relationship so we can support you throughout your entire pregnancy journey.

The meetings include intimate, casual, and informative conversations around your wants, needs, wishes, fears, concerns and beliefs.

During your first visit we focus heavily on childbirth education, birth preferences and options, pelvic floor knowledge, exercises for optimal sleep and fetal position, prenatal resources, printouts and templates to support you and your birth planning.

Our second visit will be much more hands-on. We practice labor positions, labor exercises, comfort measures and fetal position techniques. We spend a lot of time discussing your postpartum plans and how to best ease that transition. We also go over the signs of postpartum depression and anxiety so that your family is prepared to best support you. We review your birth preferences, discuss any changes in your pregnancy or care, and answer any questions you may have.

Our package also includes support via calls, texts or emails. We also go on call starting at 36 weeks through 42, available at any moment that your baby decides his or her birthday party is approaching!

Labor, Birth & Initial Postpartum

Once labor begins we will join you whether that is at home or at your place of birth. We stay with you through your entire labor until baby is born, and even stay hours after to support your initial postpartum journey. We are there to provide comfort measures and relaxation tools, emotional support for you and your partner, we help you navigate your birth journey and formulate questions for your care team, and so much more.

We are usually also able to snap some photos with your camera, navigating delivery of your placenta, repair support if needed, and initial breastfeeding support. Our goal is to exit the room once everyone has had some food and are ready for a nice nap. We hope to leave you empowered and encouraged. We will continue to follow up throughout the next 24-48 hours providing support and resources.

Postpartum Visit

Within days or a week we will come to your home for your postpartum visit, which is also included in your Birth Doula package. During this visit we will process your birth with you and answer any questions. We will celebrate your strengths and discuss the transition into parenthood. We also discuss your postpartum journey and provide value in continuing to plan for your postpartum days ahead. We offer breastfeeding support, discuss future pelvic floor concerns, check in regarding your mental health and physical healing, and provide any necessary resources.
