Twin Must Haves

Hi there, fellow twin mama!

First of all, CONGRATULATIONS!!!

I’m assuming you are here because you are either expecting or just recently welcomed twins into your family! You are about to venture on the most unique, beautiful and hard journey! As I write this, my twins are 2.5 and I can tell you, it’s been a ride!

When we decided to expand our family, I thought we were all set on things! We had everything saved from McKenzie so I didn’t think there would be much to buy for baby #2! Well, we quickly found out that we needed to buy everything again! Ok, maybe not everything!

Although I can’t take the hard and busy that you will soon experience away, I hope that in sharing what I think helped me most in those moments will at least make your journey a little bit easier! I am sure this list could be a lot longer, but my goal is to only share the MUST HAVES when welcoming twins. These items are specific to twins, and in addition to the items listed in our previous blog for Baby’s First Year Must Haves., which is linked below!

Feeding

Twin Z Pillow

This pretty much replaces the boppy for feeding sessions! The middle cushion folds up and acts as a back support. You then buckle the two sides together and it gives the perfect amount of space to tandem feed! You can also prop up your babies to bottle feed, holding one bottle in each hand. You can also use this to just to prop up your babies to hang out and then eventually each to sit in when they are still practicing their balance, just like you use the boppy with a singleton.

Table for Two: Twin Baby Feeding System

This was AMAZING. Again, it's great for bottle feeding, but also for feeding them baby food. It's a much harder material than the Twin Z Pillow and props them up in a little more of a seated position. It was great for our babies who suffered from acid reflux, because it is really difficult to hold 2 babies up right for 20-30 minutes. After awhile, your babies will want to be more upright anyway while looking around, so we just eventually transitioned to using this item. We then only used the Twin Z Pillow for nursing sessions.

Travel

Snap-N-Go Stroller Frame

This was a great stroller option for early on because the infant car seats just snap right in! Not only is it light weight and easy to lift, but it's also super affordable if you can't purchase an expensive double stroller yet. There are a lot of expenses when expecting, especially multiples and you don't technically need a more advanced double stroller right away!

Bob Double Stroller

When your babies are ready to transition out of their infant car seats, or maybe your babies are getting bigger and appreciate being out of their car seats when not in the car, a double stroller is a MUST. There are so many options out there and really it comes down to preference. Of course the Bob Double Stroller is top notch! It's easy to fold, drives very smoothly, and it is also great for mamas who love to run!

City Select Double Stroller

If you are worried about the wideness of the Bob stroller, the City Select Double Stroller is a great option! You can face your twins or have them both look forward! This stroller provides a lot of options and since hindsight is 20/20, I can now tell you this is a great option if you would like to avoid your twins touching and fighting as they get older!

Baby Jogger Glider Board

Do you already have a kid at home? This is a great option to connect to your stroller for your older child to hop on for a ride!

Radio Flyer Wagon

We love our wagon! I know, it seems like a lot to need a stroller AND a wagon, but you are going to want to change things up! The wagon is great because you can also load up all of the things! There are times you may not want to pack up the double stroller, so the wagon may be a better option! The canopy also protects them from the sun and rain! It folds up really easily and takes up very little room for travel! We used this wagon to tote around all of our carry-ons when we went to Disney!

TwinGo Carrier

I loved wearing my babies, especially when things needed to get done, or if we were somewhere that a stroller wasn't ideal! It was rare that one twin would see my wearing the other and not want to join! It does get heavy, but with one in the front and one on the back, it actually balances out just fine!

Twin Fun

Funny Bibs

We were gifted these bibs and just thought they were hilarious! Of course these are for boy/girl twins, but there are lots of good ones online. It's a crazy ride like I said, so make sure you're having some fun with it!

Funny Shirts

Need I say more?

And...

Double of all the items listed in this blog!

Alright mama, I think that’s it! Again, you don’t NEED all of these items, they are just the items I felt made my life a little easier! You also probably don’t need double of EVERYTHING but hopefully this list helps! If you are local and in need but would rather not purchase these items brand new, reach out and I will get you in touch with another twin mom who is selling them used.

Like I said, this journey is unique, beautiful, and hard! Don’t try to do it alone, but rather reach out to us for support!
